Antonio Brown to the Ravens? Baltimore GM doesn’t close door on possibility

first_imgThe Jackson-Brown band could be the next big thing sweeping the NFL.The Ravens’ offense isn’t running on empty, and soon MVP-winning QB Lamar Jackson could have a new wide receiver to play with. At least, if you read between the lines.  In an interview with Adam Schein on Sirius XM Mad Dog Sports Radio, Baltimore GM Eric DeCosta didn’t shoot down the idea of putting Brown in a Ravens uniform.ICYMI: @AdamSchein asks Ravens GM Eric DeCosta, is there “any thought process on bringing in Antonio Brown for the Baltimore Ravens?” pic.twitter.com/oZnd5LGBhS— Mad Dog Sports Radio (@MadDogRadio) April 29, 2020MORE: What to know about the 2020 NFL season, fans in stadiums and COVID-19″We’re always assessing the players out there on the streets,” DeCosta said. “We’re looking at guys, we’re making decisions that we think are best for the club, and if we think there’s a guy out there who fits us, who’s got the skill set to provide value, we’ll certainly pounce on that type of guy.”Brown was spotted alongside Jackson and wide receiver (and cousin) Marquise “Hollywood” Brown working out earlier in the offseason. Well before DeCosta’s comments, Jackson seemed open to the idea of bringing in the much-beleaguered wide receiver.”I’d be happy if they signed him,” Jackson said in late April. “He’s a great player. He showed it each and every year when he was with the Steelers in the past, but it’s not my decision.” Since Brown’s ugly divorce from the Steelers, he’s been through two more: the 31-year-old didn’t take a regular-season snap with the Raiders (the team he was traded to) and played just a single game with the Patriots before being released after accusations of sexual assault. This offseason, Bruce Arians, a former coach of Brown, shot down the idea of a Tom Brady-Brown reunion in Tampa Bay, despite both sides seemingly wanting to team up once again. Brown’s current standing could complicate matters, as he’s currently under investigation by the NFL on sexual assault allegations. He was also arrested and charged with battery earlier in the year. There are still hurdles to jump, but should the Ravens sign Brown, their offense surely won’t take it easy on opposing defenses this year.last_img
